Job summary

Villas of Holly Brook and Reflections Memory Care in Morton, IL seeks a Dietary Cook to prepare meals per recipes and maintain a clean, safe kitchen. This full-time role requires weekend work and offers benefits including health insurance, PTO, life and disability coverage, and a 401(k) with company match.

Salary ranges from $16.50 to $19.00 hourly, with 30–40 hours per week. Prior cooking experience in healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of cook experience in hospitality or healthcare preferred.
• Food handlers permit as required by state law.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guides.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals per recipes and menus.
• Maintain clean, safe, sanitary kitchen and storage areas.
• Open and/or close the kitchen.
• Follow cleaning schedules and logs.
• Document food temperatures prior to service.
• Assist with events, banquets, and themed meals.
• Attend pre-meal kitchen stand-up.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in the community. Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to Company standards.

• Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
• Responsible for the opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
• Ensures that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to Company standards.
• Participate in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration and freezer.
• Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
• Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
• Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
• Will attend pre-meal stand up in kitchen prior to meal service.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment preferred
• Food handlers permit as required by state law and/or Company standards.
• Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.
• Weekends required
