Qualifications

• Knowledge of dietary needs including therapeutic diets and nutrition.
• Food safety, sanitation and safe food handling protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff.
• Attention to detail in following recipes, dietary orders and schedules.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays and perform kitchen tasks.
• Teamwork in healthcare and kitchen settings.
• Basic computer skills for recording data and using dietary systems.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Service: Prepare meals according to prescribed diets and recipes.
• Dietary Compliance: Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
• Sanitation & Cleaning: Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Inventory & Stocking: Monitor inventory and ensure appropriate stock levels.
• Dining Area Management: Set tables, serve meals, clear areas and manage waste.
• Communication: Report patient concerns to supervising staff or dietitians.
