Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a courteous Server to provide meal service to residents and guests, assist with menu orders, and maintain dining room cleanliness.

Key duties include beverage service, equipment reporting, and basic food prep understanding, with strong emphasis on resident needs and confidentiality. Requires flexible evenings, weekends, and holiday availability.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow simple instructions.

• Must bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects.
• Must stand and walk for sustained periods up to 3 hours.

Responsibilities

• Serve resident and guest meals courteously and handle cleanup and resetting of dining room.
• Assist residents with menu orders and provide beverage service.
• Refill salt/pepper/sugar and report any broken equipment or tableware.
• Support sit-down service and basic food preparation knowledge.
• Maintain sanitation and proper food storage labeling; keep kitchen and dining area clean.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings and protect resident confidentiality.
• Interact politely with residents, guests, coworkers, and supervisors.

Job Description

The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service. Assists residents when placing orders from the menu Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea) Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.) Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room Attends required in-services and staff meetings Completes all other duties assigned Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc. Assists with tray service Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors

Requirements: Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene Must be able to read and follow simple instructions Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
