The Oaks Assisted Living in Muskegon, Michigan, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team. The Dietary Aide will assist in preparing and serving meals to residents, ensuring all dietary needs are met with a high standard of care.

This part-time Day Shift position focuses on proper nutrition, portion control, and sanitation. Join our team to support residents’ health and well-being in a compassionate, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in healthcare food service is an asset.
• Knowledge of sanitation and dietary guidelines.

Description

This role is integral to promoting the health and well-being of our residents through proper nutrition.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals according to the dietary plans and resident preferences.
• Serve meals to residents in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Ensure proper portion control and adherence to special dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Assist with stocking and inventory of food supplies.
• Communicate any dietary concerns or changes in residents' conditions to the dietary manager.
• Follow all safety and food handling regulations.
• Participate in in-service training and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living environment, is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, sanitation, and dietary guidelines.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with residents and staff.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of the elderly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
