Job summary

COX HEALTHCARE LTD is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service in our care facility. You will prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets, deliver items to resident care units, and maintain a clean, organized tray line.

You’ll also assist in preparing salads and nourishments and participate in infection prevention practices. Shifts available include mornings and evenings; basic recipe understanding and equipment use are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow recipes.
• Basic knowledge of quantity food production.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Ability to correctly use food production equipment.

Essential Functions of Dietary Aide:

• Prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
• Prepare and deliver items as requested by resident care units or residents.
• Maintain tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
• Prepare special diet foods as necessary.
• Deliver food carts to patient care units. Return carts to kitchen at designated times.
• Load and oversee dishwashers and log and record wash/rinse temperatures.
• Wash specified items by hand. Example - Pots, pans, knives.
• Dispose of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.
• Put clean dishes and utensils away
• Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary.
• Clean walk-in refrigerators and storage areas. Maintain dry storage areas by logging temperatures daily and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies.
• Assist in preparing salads, desserts, and other nourishments.
• Performs special cleaning duties as assigned by the Dietary Supervisor
• Maintain good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
• Treat residents and guest with respect and dignity.
• Always observe infection prevention and control practices.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Perform all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
