Job summary

Goldwater Care Pontiac is seeking a part-time Food and Nutrition Services Aide to assist with meal preparation, service and basic sanitation in a resident-centered kitchen.

You will follow planned menus, prepare snacks, deliver carts and maintain a clean, safe dining environment. This role requires reliability, English literacy, and a cooperative attitude for team tasks and resident care.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Maintain care & use of supplies, equipment, and maintain sanitation.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
  • Willing to incorporate new methods into food practices.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety.

Responsibilities

  • Review, prepare & serve meals per planned menus, with standardized recipes and special diet orders; prepare snacks and substitute foods as needed; ensure adherence to sanitary regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe department by keeping equipment and supplies; follow infection control precautions during daily tasks.
  • Perform dishwashing/cleaning and ensure utensils are available for next meal.
  • Prepare & deliver snacks; deliver food carts and trays; serve food and drinks in the dining room.
  • Sweep & mop floors in kitchen/dish room as instructed.
