Job summary

Split Rock Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist the cook in preparing daily meals and assembling resident trays to ensure dietary orders are followed.

You will check food inventory, maintain par levels, clean service areas, and deliver meals to residents, while upholding HIPAA and providing courteous service to residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High school education or equivalent.
• Licensing: None required.
• Physical demands: walk long distances and lift up to 50 lbs.
• English: able to speak, read and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook in determining the amount and type of food and supplies for daily meals.
• Prepare resident meal trays and ensure dietary orders are followed.
• Check inventory and maintain par levels of food goods.
• Clean dishes and food service areas using dishwasher and sinks.
• Deliver meals to resident floors, dining rooms and bedrooms.
• Assist in emergency procedures and uphold HIPAA privacy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Dietary Aide

• Assists the cook/chef in determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily meals and assists in the preparation.
• Performs tray line duties; checks meal tickets and prepares residents meal trays to assure dietary orders are followed.
• Checks food inventory/stock to assure no expired food is used and helps in maintaining par levels of food goods.
• Cleans dishes,pots and pans utilizing dishwasher and sinks.
• Cleans food service areas.
• Practices the highest level of customer service in dealing with all internal and external customers and peers.
• Delivers meals to resident floors, dining rooms and resident bed rooms
• Assists in emergency procedures ie, code E, fire, disaster, and general health care emergencies. as directed.
• Follows code of conduct and ensures resident privacy and is compliant with HIPAA.
• Will perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications, Skills And Abilities

• Education: High school education, equivalent
• License/Certification: None
• Equipment/Computer Software: Commercial kitchen, dining rooms, walk in refrigerators and freezers.
• Physical/Mental Demands: Walk long distances, and remain on her / his feet for long durations of time. Bend, squat, push, pull, reach, stretch and lift up to 50lbs. Speak, read and understand English. Able to tolerate cleaning chemicals with use of appropriate equipment.
