SUMMARY

To provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in all required workshops, seminars, and ongoing education.
  • Assist in preparing, serving, and delivering meals to residents/patients.
  • Set up meal trays, ensuring accuracy according to meal orders or dietary requirements.
  • Assist cook in basic meal preparation as directed.
  • Distribute and post daily menus in designated areas.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks according to dietary guidelines and schedules.
  • Stock or restock food carts with necessary supplies and items.
  • Deliver food carts to designated areas in a timely and sanitary manner.
  • Retrieve trays from carts, dining rooms, or resident areas and transport them to the dish room.
  • Clean utensils, equipment, and work areas following all sanitation standards.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining clean and dry surfaces.
  • Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste disposal.
  • Recycle cardboard and follow facility recycling protocols.
  • Keep work areas clean, dry, and free from hazardous equipment and materials.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and write. Must be able to follow both oral and written instruction. Additionally, needs to be able to deal professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Use simple math operations in daily food preparation tasks.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to identify and resolve routine problems in a timely and appropriate manner. Display sound judgment when handling food safety and sanitation concerns.
