Volare Health, LLC in Oregon is hiring a kitchen helper to assist in meal prep, serving and maintaining sanitary dining areas. The role involves ensuring proper heating of equipment, accurate tray portions, and clean, organized tray-line operations.

The position requires a Food Handler's permit/ServSafe, English literacy, cooperative teamwork, and the ability to pass background/drug checks. Part-time and PRN options may apply; benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit/ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Ability to relate positively and cooperatively with residents, families and colleagues.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving and maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated; ensure steam table is heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and food items on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure appropriate serving utensils are used and temperatures are within standards (temperatures logged/reviewed).
• During tray line, ensure trays are garnished, neatly arranged, and silverware/cups/dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray line, check and record excess/shortage; discuss with supervisor.

• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure that accurate serving portions and food items are on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; ensure that temperatures are within standards (all temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line).
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.
