Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Reno is seeking a per diem Diet Aide to support the Food & Nutrition Services team under supervision of the Director, Supervisor, or Lead. You will perform patient meal service duties and assist with dish duties while ensuring food safety and patient satisfaction.

The role involves preparing meals, following diet orders, and maintaining clean, efficient work areas in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Foodservice experience or equivalent nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items and patient meal trays based on diet orders and patient meal tickets.
• Adheres to food safety procedures including hand hygiene, glove use, temperature monitoring, cleaning and sanitizing.
• Follows procedures for stocking trayline, prep areas and nourishment rooms.

Responsibilities

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff. The adult behavioral health services offered is an expansion to our current 50 and older program at NNMC. The new program will offer behavioral health services to all adults 18 years and older. The department is managed through a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will experience an individualized care plan, inclusive of individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a 24-hour secure, compassionate environment.
