• Maintain personal hygiene and dress code per department policy.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers and supervisors.

DIETARY AIDE

Position Summary

The Dietary Aide performs a number of kitchen activities including, but not limited to, dish washing, general cleaning duties, daily meal service, assisting other dietary positions with meal preparation and storing food and non-food supplies.

• This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands and mental competencies of this job require the employee to maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and pots and operates dish washing equipment. Use all cleaning chemicals and materials as prescribed and handle in a safe manner.
• Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures and standard precautions of safety.
• Taking and delivering food and beverage orders.
• Ensuring resident satisfaction.
• Ensuring that quality standards and service are being delivered.
• Deliver meals to residents unable to dine in the dining room.
• Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
• Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
• May assist with basic kitchen preparations and/or serving.
• Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors promoting a homelike environment.
• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor for the benefit of the residents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
• Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test
• Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies, including the Direct Services Workers Registry.
