Job summary

Brookside Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation, service, and sanitation in a residents’ dining area. You will set up dining spaces, help prepare meals under supervision, and deliver trays to rooms promptly.

The role emphasizes hygiene, teamwork, and strong communication while supporting residents’ nutritional needs in a compassionate environment. A high school diploma is required, with food service certification a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a dietary aide in a residential care setting.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Ability to prepare meals following given instructions.
• Friendly demeanor with strong communication skills.
• Physically able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food service certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up tables and dining areas with cleanliness and order.
• Prepare meals under the guidance of a dietary manager or cook.
• Deliver dishes and trays to rooms on time.
• Assist in post-meal cleanup and clear dining areas.
• Maintain hygiene by disposing of leftovers and taking out garbage.
• Keep food stations clean and wash dishes and equipment.
• Monitor ingredient stock levels and maintain inventory.
• Assist in upkeep of kitchen equipment and appliances.
