Job summary

Watertown Health Care Center in Watertown, Wisconsin is seeking a Dietary Aide to support resident meals and service. The role involves performing food service duties, maintaining sanitary conditions, and assisting with basic food preparation.

Responsibilities include handling food and equipment per sanitation policies, delivering meals, and performing routine cleaning. You will ensure high-quality service with a caring approach to residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Must have knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Must be able to follow diet lists, portion foods as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.
• Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
• Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral directions in the English language.

• Handles food and equipment according to corporate, local, state and federal sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas as instructed by supervisor.
• Prepares and delivers snacks.
• Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to supervisor.
• Ensures that customer and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Other Duties

• Interact with residents, families, visitors, facility and corporate staff.
• Must possess working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Must have the ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.
• Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
• May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, additional hours, and in different positions as the facility’s needs require.
• Must practice good personal hygiene and follow the dress code requirements.
• Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test as required.
