Job summary

Blue Ridge Senior Living assists Dietary Cooks and Dietary Aides in preparing and serving meals for residents, following state and federal regulations. Tasks include setting up dining areas, taking orders, serving, cleaning, and maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications require a High School diploma or equivalent; prior dietary experience is not required, but experience in long-term care or hospital settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served.
• Prepare snacks as needed.
• Set up dining room as instructed.
• Prepare items such as salads and beverages.
• Take resident orders on an as needed basis in dining room and serves meals to residents in a timely manner.
• Clean resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to proper procedures.
• Collects and stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchen.
• Wash cooking equipment, pots, pans, dishes and utensils.
• Clean eating and prep surfaces, sweep and mop floor.
• Remove garbage as needed.
• Store food in designated areas.
• Report any issues to the Dietary Manager; comply with sanitation standards.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
