Position Summary

Dietary Aide – responsible for preparing and serving food, managing dishroom duties, and maintaining cleanliness of kitchen areas.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties including preparation and/or service of food on the patient tray line, work in the dishroom or potroom, and serving as the porter or kitchen cleaner.
• Properly sets up work stations for efficient meal service. Reads patient menus on tray line and serves at steam table using correct portion control utensils.
• Follows work assignments correctly and practices safe handling of cleaning chemicals. Adheres to safety procedures of food preparation and understands differences in diets offered.
• Cleans up work stations in dishroom and tray line, following proper sanitation and infection control procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication (oral & written) and customer service skills.
• Ability to read well and write legibly.
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in food service.

Compensation

Salary range: $24.60 – $24.60 per hour, based on experience and hospital needs. The range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other compensation.
