Job summary

Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Taylor, PA is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide for the evening shift to support nutrition service operations and ensure nourishing, balanced meals for residents.

You will follow the Director of Food Service guidance and center procedures, handle food preparation and service tasks, keep areas clean, and maintain safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and ability in food service preparation and cleanup.
  • Verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Requires prolonged standing, bending, walking, lifting and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all food procedures are followed.
  • Prepares food using proper food handling and safety techniques.
  • Maintains proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in food service department.
  • Assist in serving meals, beverages, and special items on a timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Label, date, and store food properly.
  • Maintain a clean sanitary work area.
  • Prepare dining room for service.
  • Perform dishwashing service and cleaning procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
  • Assure safety and health regulations are being followed.
  • Report any hazards to supervisor.
  • Transport all food carts in a safe and proper manner.
  • Wear proper work attire including hair nets and badges.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job description

POSITION TITLE: Dietary Aide

Schedule: Part-time evening shift

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides assistance in all nutrition service functions as directed by the Director of Food Service in accordance with the center’s standards and procedures, federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Assists with providing nourishing, attractive, well-balanced meals and a pleasant dining experience. Must follow company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
  • 1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires demonstrated knowledge and ability in food service preparation and clean up. Verbal and written English communication skills. Position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, walking, stooping, lifting, stretching, moving heavy items, and lifting/ carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • 2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3. Experience: Previous long term care experience or institutional food service preferred.

  15. 15. Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor
  16. 16. Report any abuse immediately to supervisor.
  17. 17. Assist in food preparation for special meals or events.
  18. 18. Maintain Confidentiality of all resident’s information to assure residents rights are protected
  19. 19. Report all work related injuries to supervisor.
  20. 19.Transport all food carts in a safe and proper manner.
  21. 20. Wear proper work attire including hair nets and badges.
  22. 21. Practice safe work habits.
  23. 24. Performs all other duties as assigned.
