Job summary

Concord-Care-Center-of-Sandusky- is seeking a Dietary Aide to support daily meal service and residents' therapeutic diets under the guidance of the Dietary Services Supervisor. Responsibilities include preparing trays, assisting with food storage and production, maintaining sanitation, and adhering to infection control principles while delivering friendly, reliable service to residents.

This hourly position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent bending or reaching to assist with meals

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand applicable dietary documents and emergency procedures.
• Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares tray line and sets up for food service with residents' therapeutic diets.
• Performs dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation duties.
• Serves prepared food to residents in dining room maintaining infection control principles.
• Assists in food storage and in food preparation and production.
• Uses required kitchen equipment and provides substitutes to residents with approval.
• Disposes of garbage and refuse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand applicable dietary documents and emergency procedures.
• Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepares tray line and sets up for food/meal service while maintaining residents’ therapeutic diets prescribed by the attending physician.
• Performs dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitation duties.
• Serves prepared food to residents in dining room maintaining infection control principles.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

• Assists in food storage.
• Assists in food preparation and production.
• Uses required kitchen equipment.
• Provides substitutes to residents as requested and with the approval of the dietary supervisor.
• Disposes of garbage and refuse.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, leaning, squatting, and reaching.
• Frequent pushing and pulling up to 30 pounds.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURES:

Regular duties do not involve exposure to blood or body fluids. However, exposure is possible in emergency situations. There may also be exposure to air contaminants (including tobacco smoke), and chemicals (including irritants) which require special handling. Attendance is mandatory at initial and periodic in-services provided by the facility regarding the prevention and control of such exposures.
