A Dietary Aide assists in preparing and serving meals for patients or residents, ensuring that dietary needs are met while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Shift 6am - 3pm
Key Responsibilities
- Meal Preparation: Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to specific dietary requirements and preferences of patients or residents.
- Food Delivery: Deliver meals to patients or residents, ensuring that food is served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage of food items.
- Patient Interaction: Communicate with patients about their dietary preferences and restrictions, providing support and education on nutrition when necessary.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and safety standards.
- Communication Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving food items.
- Compassionate Attitude: A caring and compassionate approach to working with patients, understanding their dietary needs and preferences.
Work Environment
Dietary Aides will work in healthcare setting such as, Warren Haven Nursing Home. This role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, requiring teamwork and collaboration with dietitians, cooks, and other healthcare professionals.
