Job summary

The Citadel of Northbrook is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team in Northbrook, IL. The Dietary Aide supports residents by serving meals and maintaining cleanliness in the dietary department, following established procedures.

Responsibilities include timely meal service, portion control, and assisting with daily cleaning tasks. Prior healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus, with HS diploma preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow sanitation process and maintain cleanliness standards.

The Citadel of Northbrook is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their team! The Dietary Aide is responsible for serving residents’ meals and cleaning routines for the dietary department.

Dietary Aide Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance on a timely basis.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Sweeps and mops floors as directed.
• Washes and cleans utensils as directed.
• Sets up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.

Dietary AideQualifications and Skills:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Dietary Aide Education and Experience:

• Experience operating an industrial dishwasher and the sanitation process of the kitchen, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Experience in industrial food production preferred.
• Prior experience working in a long‑term care facility a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
