Job summary

Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care, a 192-bed skilled nursing facility in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, is seeking a Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff to deliver excellent meal service to residents. You will prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals, and help with tray assembly and dining-room service.

No prior dietary aide experience is required, and vaccination guidance is provided; part-time shifts offer pro-rated benefits and the option for weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Some high school education required.
• Experience in a healthcare kitchen is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work under pressure and with all staff.
• Knowledge of food service techniques and sanitation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Covid-19 vaccinations encouraged but not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals, and washing dishes.
• In-kitchen preparation and cleaning for assigned station.
• Prepare hot and cold items per diets and recipes.
• Assemble trays according to prescribed diets and serve trays.
• Take inventory and deliver nourishments to nursing units.
• Handling of food in a safe manner.
• Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service.

• Part-Time 4d/week, 7.25 hours/day (29 hours)
• Part-Time 5d/week 4pm- 8pm, 4 hours/day (20 hours)
• Some Weekend Availability is a MUST

The role of the Dietary Aide (Food Service) is:

• Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff must be reliable and dedicated to providing excellent meal service to our residents
• Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare food, serve residents, clean up after meals, and washing dishes
• Proper “in kitchen” preparation and cleaning in regards to the station assigned
• Prepare cold and hot food and beverage items in accordance to diets and recipes
• Dietary Aide/Food Service Staff will assemble trays according to prescribed diets and serve resident tray line and main dining room
• Take inventory and deliver prepared nourishments to nursing unit pantries at designated times for residents’ use
• Handling of food in a safe manner
• Deliver and retrieve food carts to all nursing units during meal service

Requirements

• Some high school education
• Experience working in a kitchen in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Work well under pressure & willing to work harmoniously with all staff
• Must have a working knowledge of food service techniques and sanitation
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required
• Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC

Part-Time positions starting at $21.67/hour w/pro-rated benefits

Per Diem positions: $25.07/hour, no benefits
