Job summary

Eaton-Creek-Post-Acute in Nashville, TN is hiring a Dietary Aide to support meal services and kitchen operations. You will learn routines quickly, set up trays, wash dishes, assist with serving meals, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, read recipes, obtain a food handlers’ certificate, and work cooperatively with all departments. This is an on-site position with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• Food handlers’ certificate required.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and procedures.
• Must be able to learn food service routines quickly.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk frequently.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
