Job summary

HHS is seeking a Dietary Aide to join the Deaconess Illinois Medical Center culinary team. You will assist patients with menu selection, deliver meals in a timely fashion, and ensure each patient receives the correct meal according to dietary orders.

This full-time role offers day/evening/night shifts, with every other weekend required. Background check and drug screen are required; strong English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a uniform.
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
• Preferred: Culinary experience (cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, hotel operations, healthcare).

Responsibilities

• Ensure each patient receives an accurate meal that matches their order and diet requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service for all patients.
• Deliver and collect patient menus in a timely manner.
• Prepare cold/hot items and condiments for meal times.
• Adhere to the facility's health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently.
• Location: Deaconess Illinois Medical Center.

Job Description

We're looking for friendly, compassionate team players to join our culinary team! As part of the dietary team, assist patients with menu selection and deliver their meals in a timely fashion. Provide excellent customer service to ensure every patient is satisfied with their meal.

Job Details

Dietary Aide Wage: $16/hour

Full-time position available. Must be able to work every other weekend.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking continuously, frequent stooping, and bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
