Job summary

Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our kitchen and dining team. You will help prepare dining rooms, serve meals to residents, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in dining and kitchen areas.

In this fast-paced role, you will deliver meals on time, assist the Cook and Dietary Manager, stock ingredients, monitor inventory, and participate in mandatory trainings. A positive attitude and good communication with staff and residents are essential.

Qualifications

• Friendly demeanor with good communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Food service experience preferred and sanitation knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining rooms and tables and provide meal service to residents.
• Deliver meals to resident rooms at designated times and set up dining areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Assist Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Attend mandatory in-services, trainings and department meetings.

Dietary Aide - Essential Functions:

The Dietary Aide helps prepare dining rooms and tables, provide meal service to residents and maintains cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas.

• Delivers meals to resident rooms at designated times and sets up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Maintain a clean dining areas & dishes using appropriate procedures, discard leftovers & empty trash.
• Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus.
• Assists the Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Helps maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings and department meetings.

Dietary Aide - Requirements:

• Friendly with good communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to read.
• Meet physical demands – stand, sit, walk extended lengths of time, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds
• Food service experience preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines a plus
