Job summary

Arbor Hills Skilled Nursing and Rehab in La Mesa, CA is seeking a hard-working Dietary Aide. The role supports food service operations, assists in meal preparation, tray setup, and helps ensure residents receive meals in a timely and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas and distribute menus as required.
• Assist cooks in preparing meals and obtaining food supplies for next meal.
• Develop good rapport with inter-department staff to ensure smooth food service.

Arbor Hills Skilled Nursing and Rehab, a Generations Healthcare facility, is in search of a Dietary Aide to join our team

Job Description:

The primary role of the Dietary Aide is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures

Essential Duties

• Work with the facility's Dietitian/ Director of Food Services as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
• Assist cook in preparing meals.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies for next meal.
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.

Qualifications:

• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
