Job summary

Hale Makua Health Services in Maui is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation and service for residents and to support kitchen sanitation and cleanup.

Responsibilities include serving meals per portion controls, checking diet trays for accuracy, delivering meal carts to units, maintaining clean work areas, and pre-portioning foods for the next service. Prior food service experience preferred; high school diploma preferred; TB clearance required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, speak and follow oral and written instructions.
• Previous commercial food service experience preferred.

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position

We're looking for passionate Dietary Aides to serve delicious food to Hale Makua's residents, and to assist with kitchen sanitation and clean up.

• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Checks diet trays to ensure accuracy.
• Transports meal carts to units for residents who prefer to eat in their rooms.

Requirements

• High School Diplomaor equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, speak and follow oral and written instructions.
• Previous commercial food service experience preferred.
• Must have current medical/health screening including 2 step TB clearance (can be done in-house).
