Job summary

The Avenue Care and Rehabilitation Center in Michigan is seeking a dedicated dietary aide to support meals, monitor temperatures, and maintain a clean kitchen in a post-acute care setting. The role emphasizes patient nutrition, safety, and teamwork.

You will prepare meals based on planned menus, supervise dietary aides, record temperatures, and assist the Dietary Manager. Strong reading and writing skills, customer service, and the ability to collaborate with staff are essential.

• Strong communication and collaboration with kitchen and care staff.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving meals for residents based on a planned menu.
• Monitoring and supervising dietary aides and helping when/where needed.
• Opening/closing the kitchen and turning on/off equipment.
• Completing daily cleaning assignments per the cleaning schedule.
• Recording meal temperatures and refrigeration temperatures.
• Preparing supplements and special items for trays.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Customer service skills and the ability to work on a team is a MUST.
• Good reading, reading comprehension and writing skills are necessary.
