Job summary

Aliya of Glenwood seeks a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our care team. You will review menus, prepare and serve meals per recipes and diet orders, and assist with nutritious snacks while maintaining a clean, sanitary dining area.

The role emphasizes patient-centered service, safety, and adherence to infection-control guidelines. Experience in food service or healthcare food service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks and substitute foods as needed.
• Ensure food, equipment, and supplies are prepared and maintained in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe dining environment by following infection control precautions.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, and deliver snacks as instructed.
• Deliver food carts, trays, and serve food and drinks in the dining room as instructed.
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dish room as instructed by the supervisor.

Dietary Aide

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review, prepare, and serve meals in accordance with planned menus with standardized recipes and special diet orders
• Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks and substitute foods for residents who refuse foods served
• Ensure food, equipment, and supplies are prepared and maintained in accordance with sanitary regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing daily tasks and adhering to infection control precautions
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, and prepare and deliver snacks as instructed
• Deliver food carts, trays, and serve food and drinks in the dining room as instructed
• Sweep and mop floors in the kitchen and dish room as instructed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and appearance of work areas
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents based on their maturity level
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
• Must possess sight and hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
