Job summary

St. John's Riverside Hospital is seeking a Dietary Aide to support patient feeding with safe, high-quality food service. You will collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely meal delivery and maintain a clean, organized kitchen and tray line.

Previous food service experience is preferred; strong English communication and the ability to follow directions are required. This role may require work at multiple sites as noted in the job description.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Previous experience in the food service area preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills needed.
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently.
  • Some knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, cleanliness and neatness.

Responsibilities

  • The Dietary Aide initiates and completes a variety of patient food service tasks.
  • Performs patient food service duties and other related tasks.
  • Maintains a clean, organized work area and handles cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Operates dish machine, tray line, and washes pots, pans, and utensils.
  • Loads meal trays, prepares hot and cold items, and assists with carts and service duties.

Responsibilities

The Dietary Aide is accountable for initiating and completing a variety of food service tasks related to patient feeding. Performs a variety of patient food service duties, as well as other food service related tasks. Maintains a clean and organized work area; conducts other cleaning duties as assigned. Operates dish machine, works on tray line, washes pots, pans and serving utensils, load food trucks with meal trays, and prepares hot and cold food items as directed and following approved recipes. Operates food service equipment, assembles and delivers patient trays, sets-up and breaks-down carts, trays and different food service duties as directed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Ability to follow direction and work independently. Some knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, cleanliness, and neatness. Previous experience in the food service area preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
