Job summary

Monroviahealth in Duarte, CA is seeking a Food & Nutrition Specialist to support dietary services and assist with daily meals in accordance with established policies. You will help ensure meals are prepared and delivered on time while maintaining high quality and resident safety.

Requirements include prior dietary experience in acute or long‑term care and completion of Food Handling certification. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and paid time off.

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates commitment to company's mission, values and standards of ethical behavior.
• Models a positive and professional image that emulates the organization's mission and encourages a spirit of cooperation with co-workers. Provides assistance to co-workers and promotes teamwork by sharing information useful to achieving desired results.
• Ensures that all residents are treated fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect, and their rights are protected at all times.
• Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights whenever carrying out duties, including knocking before entering a resident's room.
• Complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensures that dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies, production sheets and recipes, including the use of adaptive devices per instructions.
• Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Sets-up tray cards, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed for meal service.
• Assists in ensuring that meals are prepared and delivered on time and at proper temperature.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous dietary experience in acute or long term care environment preferred
• Completion of Food Handling training and certification
