Responsibilities

• Deliver and retrieve trays, wash dishes, and maintain sanitation and safety standards.
• Maintain clean tables, chairs, and food service equipment; build rapport with residents and families.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIETARY AIDE

As a Dietary Aide, you play a vital role in our community. Without you, we would not be able to provide quality service in delivering meals to our residents! You assist in preparing and serving meals to our residents, starting with carefully setting up trays and serving regular meals, preparing snack items and food requests for special events. You deliver a high level of customer service by distributing food in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual resident meals according to specified diet orders and an approved menu.

With a close eye for detail, you ensure the quality and temperature of food items. You also deliver and retrieve trays by the end of meal dining time and wash dishes.

You take great care to enhance safety and sanitary conditions which may include, but not limited to, picking up food and trash, cleaning tables, chairs, and other food service equipment and utensils. You live up to the trust of those in your care by complying with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations, maintaining knowledge of and following all company policies and procedures. Your warm and friendly demeanor makes it easy for you to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues.
