Job summary

Newport Meadows is seeking a part-time dietary aide to assist with meal prep and service for residents. Shifts available are 6:30am-2:30pm and 4:00pm-8:00pm, with holiday and weekend availability required.

You will work with the dietary supervisor and dietitian to ensure prescribed diets are prepared and served accurately. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, willingness to train, basic nutrition knowledge, and comfort with wearing a hair covering.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
• Past experience preferred, but we will train the right people.
• Must have knowledge of basic principles of foods and nutrition, food sanitation and service, familiar with large scale purchase and preparation of food.
• Must be well groomed and willing to wear hair covering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with light food preparation.
• Ensure that all therapeutic diets are prepared and served as prescribed on resident's written slip.
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding healthcare environment.
• Works in conjunction with the dietary supervisor and dietitian to provide a well-balanced meal for the patients.
• Follow the Health department rules and regulations on food preparation.
• Sanitation of the department will be maintained in accordance with Federal, State, County and City regulations
