Your Role as a Dietary Services Aide

We are looking for a dedicated Dietary Services Aide to join our team and assist in preparing and serving food to residents, family members, visitors, and staff in a skilled nursing setting. This role ensures accurate meal service according to specific diets and helps maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation for residents, visitors, and staff, including special activities.
  • Attend and serve food during in-service or staff meetings as requested.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining sanitary conditions.
  • Set and clear tables before and after meals.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, following health and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to the Americare Mission/Vision, Home Town Hospitality, and F.A.M.I.L.Y. values.
Physical Demands
  • Standing, sitting, walking, and changing positions frequently.
  • Ability to reach, balance, kneel, stoop, and bend.
Safety Requirements
  • Follow safety policies, including the use of carts for moving items.
  • Wear skid-resistant, supportive shoes to prevent slips and falls.
  • Utilize protective hand equipment when handling knives, sharp objects, and hot surfaces.
  • Use PPE such as gloves, hairnets, and beard guards when handling food.
  • Report all work-related injuries within 12 hours and participate in required documentation.
  • Participation in company drug testing procedures.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional kitchen setting, utilizing stoves, dishwashers, refrigerators, coolers, and other equipment. The environment includes indoor settings with adequate lighting and ventilation.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions in a safe and efficient manner.
