Job summary

Birchwood Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to support our Food Services team in Burlington, VT. You will assist the Cook with meal prep and service, ensuring residents receive high-quality dining experiences.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering meals, cleaning the kitchen per health standards, and following tray tickets. The role requires basic nutrition knowledge and reliable, detail-oriented performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; specialized training in food service desirable.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English; follow directions and complete tasks.
• Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods.
• General knowledge and understanding of nutrition.
• Ability to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements and procedures.
• Ability to interact positively with residents, clients, and other personnel.
• Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
