Essential Functions of the Dietary Aide:

• Help prepare dining rooms and tables, provide meal service to residents, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining and kitchen areas.
• Deliver meals to resident rooms at designated times and set up tables or other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Maintain clean dining areas and dishes using appropriate procedures, discard leftovers, and empty trash.
• Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menus.
• Assist the Cook and Dietary Manager as directed.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
• Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Attend all mandatory in-services, educational trainings, and department meetings.

Requirements:

• Friendly with good communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.
• Ability to read.
• Meet physical demands - stand, sit, walk extended lengths of time, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines is a plus.
