Job summary

NHC HealthCare Anderson is hiring for full and part-time Dietary Aide positions. The role focuses on producing and serving patient meals within a post-acute care facility.

Candidates should have a genuine interest in food service, willingness to learn therapeutic diets, and strong customer service. Responsibilities include following instructions, safety with chemicals, and assisting dietary and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Interest in food service and caring for geriatric and healthcare patients.
• Willing to learn food preparation and cooking skills.
• Knowledge of therapeutic and modified diets; able to apply in meal service.
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks and maintain accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to follow oral/written instructions.
• Must speak and understand English; reading skills may be required.
• Read and understand labels on chemicals; follow MSDS safety procedures.
• Good mental and physical condition; able to work with supervision.
• Punctual, cooperative with dietary and hospital staff; follow policies.
• May obtain Food Handler's Certificate or Sanitation Course as required by state.
• Dress code compliance; perform other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Produce and serve patient meals in a post-acute care setting.
• Follow dietary guidelines and therapeutic diet information as required.
• Perform repetitive tasks daily with accuracy and efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
• Adhere to safety policies and read labels on chemicals/cleaning products.
• Support dietary department and other departments as needed.

NHC HEALTHCARE ANDERSON - DIETARY AIDE

a 24 hr. post-acute health care center located in the South Carolina upstate has full and part time opportunities for a dietary aide. The dietary aideperforms various duties associated with the production and service of patient meals.

Qualifications

• Must have a sincere interest in food service and enjoy working with geriatric and other healthcare patients.
• Must have, or be willing to learn, food preparation and cooking skills.
• Must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, therapeutic and modified diet information to use in preparing and serving patient trays.
• Must be willing to perform repetitive tasks daily.
• Must possess and use excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
• Must be able to speak and understand English. May be required to have reading skills.
• Must be able to read and/or understand labels on chemicals and MSDS sheets and be able to use these products safely and correctly.
• Must be in good mental and physical condition.
• Must work cooperatively and productively with all partners in dietary and in all departments following established policies of the center.
• Must be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, must be at work on time and during scheduled shift.
• May be required to have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course, as required by state regulations.
• Must be able to work under supervision.
• Adheres to the dress code for the department.
• Performs other tasks.
