Job summary

Rows Inc. seeks a Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Department with meal preparation, tray delivery, dining room service, and sanitation, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals per physician orders and facility policies.

You will assist with meal service, portioning, tray line work, temperature checks, and inventory stocking, collaborating with nursing and dietary teams to maintain safe, clean kitchen operations and a positive dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation, portioning, plating, and tray line service
• Deliver meal trays to residents' rooms and assist with set-up as needed
• Assist residents during meals as directed by nursing (within scope of role)
• Ensure accurate meal delivery according to diet orders (regular, mechanical soft, puree, diabetic, renal, etc.)
• Collect meal trays and ensure proper clean-up after meals
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and food service equipment
• Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment according to sanitation standards
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and infection control procedures
• Maintain compliance with local health department regulations and facility policies
• Take and record temperatures of food, refrigerators, and freezers as assigned
• Assist with stocking food and supplies
• Notify Dietary Manager of low inventory or supply needs
• Properly store food according to labeling and expiration guidelines
• Follow CMS, state, and facility dietary regulations
• Comply with infection control, PPE, and safety protocols
• Work collaboratively with nursing and dietary staff to meet resident needs
• Participate in in-services and required trainings

Position Summary

The Dietary Aide supports the Dietary Department by assisting with meal preparation, tray delivery, dining room service, sanitation, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. This role plays an important part in ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in accordance with physician orders, dietary restrictions, and facility policies, while promoting a positive dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Service & Resident Support

• Assist with meal preparation, portioning, plating, and tray line service
• Deliver meal trays to residents' rooms and assist with set-up as needed
• Assist residents during meals as directed by nursing (within scope of role)
