Description

Elan Skilled Nursing and Rehab is looking for PRN Dietary Aides to join our dedicated team! Please see below for additional details regarding the position.

SUMMARY: Assists in preparation and service of food, proper sanitation and storage of food and non-food supplies. Dietary Aides are scheduled in a variety of job assignments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Serves residents in dining room appropriate meals by:
  • Utilizing Selective Menu sheets as a guide to a resident’s dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Refers to posted production sheets for menu items to be served to special diets.
• Take food carts to and from nursing units.
• Serve meals to residents dining on nursing units through specific position on tray line.
• Assembles Kosher Meals on Wheels.
• Stores food and non-food supply in a sanitary manner by:
  • Maintains all storage areas in a neat and organized manner.
  • Proper utilization of a cover, label, and date.
• Breakdown and reset of dining room following proper procedures.
• Performs assigned cleaning duties by:
  • Following the posted schedule.
  • Follows appropriate cleaning procedures as directed by supervisor.
  • Cleans and washes all dishes, pots and silverware according to appropriate sanitary guidelines.
  • Cleans and sanitizes food carts after they are retrieved from nursing units.
• Fills nourishment requisitions.
• Assists in food preparation by:
  • Preparing all raw vegetables and fruits.
  • Some baking cookies and other baked products.
  • Assists in the preparation and service of special functions.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to follow both oral and written directions.

MATHEMATICAL: Basic understanding of mathematical skills including addition and subtraction.
