Job summary

Palko Truck and Trailer is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team in Western Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems, and the ability to perform preventative maintenance on a range of on-highway diesel powered freight equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years working as a technician/mechanic.
• High-School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational training is a plus.
• Technical or vocational training in mechanics is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and Diagnose: perform thorough inspections of diesel engines and related vehicle systems using diagnostic tools.
• Maintenance and Repair: conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, electrical systems and other key components.
• Fabrication
• Welding
• Documentation: maintain accurate records of all repairs, parts used, and time spent.
• Parts and Inventory: assist in ordering and maintaining parts, tools, and equipment.
• Customer Service: communicate repair needs, costs, and timelines to customers.
• Troubleshooting: apply problem-solving skills to diagnose and solve mechanical and electrical issues.
