Job summary
GFL Environmental Inc. in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a diesel mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain company-owned or leased heavy-duty trucks and equipment to ensure they operate safely.
Starting pay is $24-$30 per hour, with hours 7am-3:30pm Monday to Friday, and overtime after 40 hours. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, 401K after 6 months, and health benefits after 60 days.
Qualifications
- Experience as a diesel mechanic (1 year minimum).
- Ability to use diagnostic software is a major plus.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with trailers.
- Administrative Duties: Accurately complete daily reports, work orders, parts orders, and other required administrative tasks.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in safe conditions and in strict compliance with laws and company policies.
- Collaboration & Training: Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups, coordinate repair schedules, and aid training of new team members.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain personal hand and power tools and keep work area organized.
