Job summary

Messer North America, Inc. is hiring a Diesel Tractor-Trailer Mechanic for the McGregor, TX area on dayshift. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel tractors, trailers, and cryogenic equipment while ensuring safety and reliability.

A $3000 sign-on bonus is offered, with a 5-day work week and 45 hours on average. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, vacation, paid holidays, a 401k with company match after 1 year, and paid on-the-job

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on mechanical tractor and trailer experience.
• Open to occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and cryogenic equipment.
• Conduct detailed inspections to identify issues before downtime.
• Complete all fleet maintenance bulletins and service reminders.
• Diagnose and repair equipment failures to ensure safe operation.
• Troubleshoot systems using diagnostic tools and software.
• Develop and execute repair plans from start to finish.
• Review DVIRs and complete corrective actions.
• Maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Provide on-call troubleshooting support.
