Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions in Sterling, IL is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our national fleet maintenance team. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty vehicles, diagnose issues, and ensure safety standards.

We offer $38.00 - $45.00 per hour, weekly pay, full benefits within 30 days, and a sign-on bonus up to $5,000. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6:00am to 2:30pm, with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in performing diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must own and maintain personal tools and toolbox necessary to perform job duties.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
• Document repairs and complete work orders.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and company guidelines.
• Work with supervisors and team members to keep fleets operational.
