Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Possess or be eligible for DCJS certification if required.
  • Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience; towing/heavy-duty repair preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering, fuel and DEF systems.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel trucks and commercial vehicles.
  • Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brake inspections, alignments, and wheel balancing.
  • Complete welding, fabrication, hydraulic repairs, and other mechanical work as needed.
  • Ensure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently while meeting productivity standards.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure vehicles pass safety inspections.
  • Respond to roadside service calls and adhere to safety and DOT regulations.
