Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is seeking a Technician in South Portland, ME, on a Monday–Friday 3:30pm–12:00am shift. Starting pay is $29.21/hr with a $2.50 second‑shift differential and a $2.00 CDL differential (if applicable).

You’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet to keep customers on the road. As part of a team with experienced supervisors, you’ll learn Penske’s maintenance processes and access industry‑leading training and tools.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Performing preventative maintenance repairs such as rotating tires, lubrication, and some electrical/cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engines
• Collaborating with the manager to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training
• Taking on other projects as assigned by supervisor

Main Responsibilities:

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
