What’s the Job? Ready to move your career forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repair of all levels on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

Main Responsibilities
  • Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers
  • Doing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timely manner
  • Repairing and troubleshooting components such as engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
  • Keeping your work area clean and safe
  • Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
  • Learning new skills through Penske’s technician training
  • Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications
  • 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications preferred
  • Experienced using tools of the trade (including diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • The ability to solve problems
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willing to work in non‑climate‑controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other information established by Penske management
  • Must perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Must have a current driver qualification file as required by DOT regulations (including MVR check, DOT Physical, Safety Performance History, and if applicable CDL holder details)
  • Willingness to travel within the district, work required schedules, and complete background and drug screening
Physical Requirements
  • Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
  • Use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate required tools or controls
  • Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated work platforms
  • Work safely in all weather conditions
  • See and hear to navigate a workplace with frequent large truck movement
  • Regularly lift or move up to 50lbs (23kg); occasionally lift or move up to 100lbs (45kg); and push/pull truck tires that exceed 100lbs

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Hours: Tuesday‑Friday 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Shift Differentials:
Second shift starts after 11 AM eligible for $3.00 per hour shift differential.
Third shift starts after 9 PM eligible for $4.00 per hour shift differential.
