Job summary

Hire Virtue seeks a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Savannah, GA to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. You will contribute to fleet reliability, safety compliance, and uptime in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of diesel experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently. CDL is a plus; valid license required; on-site role with potential overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical school or diesel certification preferred.
3+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
Experience working on heavy trucks, utility/construction equipment, or fleet vehicles.
Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
CDL is a plus; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on diesel trucks, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and fuel systems.
Conduct DOT inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Maintain repair records and parts usage logs; assist field repairs as needed.
