Job summary

Republic Services is offering a Technician Apprenticeship to train entry-level technicians over two years across the United States. The program includes nine weeks of paid training in Dallas, TX, followed by twenty-two months of on-the-job training with mentorship to achieve Apprentice certification as a Diesel Mechanic.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, electrical systems, hydraulics, air systems, and safety leadership while earning while they learn.

Qualifications

• Commitment to completing a two-year apprenticeship.
• Ideal candidate is a logical problem solver with interest in engineering and technology.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights/weekends/holidays.
• Willingness to travel to and live in Dallas, Texas for 9 weeks of in-person training.
• Pay while in Dallas: $16.00 per hour.
• Pay during on-the-job training in Danville, IL: $21.30 per hour.
• $0.50 increases after 500 hours and 1000 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
• Acquire skills in electrical diagnosis, air conditioning, wheel end and air brake components, hydraulics, and truck maintenance.
• Learn under mentorship and complete the Republic Services apprenticeship journey.
