Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is launching a Technician Apprenticeship program nationwide. This two-year track trains entry-level technicians in diesel and non-diesel fleet maintenance, with hands-on work, classroom learning and mentorship.

Apprentices receive company-paid training at the Technical Institute in Dallas, TX, progress to on-the-job training at multiple units, and have opportunities to advance to Level C Technician after meeting milestones.

Qualifications

• Two-year apprenticeship with structured training.
• Interest in vehicle engineering and technology.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends or holidays.
• Willingness to travel and live in Dallas for 9 weeks of in-person training.
• Commitment to Republic Services values, safety and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Learn electrical diagnosis of starting and charging systems.
• Identify and inspect air conditioning, wheel end and air system components.
• Perform truck preventative maintenance under supervision.
• Participate in mentorship and on-the-job training across locations.
• Support the transition to a Level C Technician as milestones are met.
