Job summary

TransChicago Truck Group in Gary, IN is seeking a Diesel Technician - Apprentice to assist with repair of diesel trucks. You will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and help with adjustments and alignments.

Training is provided; 1-3+ years experience preferred, with certifications for Detroit, Cummins, Freightliner or Total Truck Care a plus. You’ll contribute to keeping trucks on the road and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests.
• Keeps equipment available by completing preventive maintenance schedules and upgrades.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by repairs and replacements of major assemblies and systems.
• Verifies vehicle performance by test drives and adjusting controls.
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
