Job summary

Love’s Travel Stops offers a Diesel Apprentices program in Illinois, welcoming mechanically inclined individuals with no professional experience. You will be trained to assist customers, perform preventative maintenance, and learn electrical, HVAC, wheel end, air systems, brakes, and diagnostic repairs while interacting with drivers from across the country.

Position includes flexible scheduling, health coverage after 30 days, and tuition assistance to fuel your growth within a family-owned

Qualifications

• No professional experience required; we will teach you.
• Able to move and lift 75+ pounds.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Rotating schedule (day/night as needed).
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation (paid by Love’s)

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Participate in learning electrical/diagnostics and repairs (diagnostics for electrical, A/C, wheel end, air system, brakes, charging system).
• Engage in parts lookup and acquisition.

Diesel Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment and maintain clean places with friendly faces. You will interact with customers & drivers from all over, making their travels and their day better. Are you mechanically inclined with no professional experience? No problem!We will teach you!

In the apprentice program, you can expect to learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Assist customers with roadside services

• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
