Job summary

Love's Travel Stops is seeking candidates for its Diesel Apprentice Program in Iowa. You will learn electrical diagnostics and vehicle system repairs while helping customers and drivers, with a hands-on approach that builds practical skills.

The role involves learning preventative maintenance, operating in a fast-paced setting, and a rotating day/night schedule. Physical work is required; Love's will cover a DOT medical card. Eligible associates receive comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined and eager to learn through hands-on training.
• Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in varying temperatures.
• Will receive structured instruction on diagnostic and repair workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Move and lift 75+ pounds; work in varying temperatures.
• Prioritize safety and customer satisfaction per policies.
• Rotate between day and night shifts as needed.
• Possess ability to obtain a DOT medical card (paid by Love's).

In The Apprentice Program, You Can Expect To Learn:

• Electrical diagnostics and repairs
• Air conditioning & heating diagnostics and repairs
• Wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs
• Air system diagnostics and repairs
• Air brakes diagnostics and repairs
• Charging system diagnostics and repairs
• Basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement
• Parts lookup and acquisition

Job Functions:

• Assist customers with roadside services
• Learn preventative maintenance services
• Ability to move, lift 75+ pounds working in close quarters. Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Always put the safety and satisfaction of your customers first, complying with company safety policies & procedures.
• Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
• Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation. (paid by Love’s)
